Was born from 30 Clarendon Square Pancras Middlesex. On 26 March 1910 He and his wife lived at 13 Cloudesley Street Islington.When Stanley Sidney Phillips born they were living at 26 Foxham Road Islington (Electoral Roll North B Tufnel Ward 1 record of house in 1909&1910 Harold Davis and 1912 Charles Page..house not shown in 1911)His 1st wife Louisa Neill died at University College Hospital but was living with Sidney in November 1913 at 62 Crayford Road Islington. (I have checked the Electoral Roll for North C Islington from 1910 to 1913 only shows an Alfred Farrer)
He also lived up to his death at 30 Bells Orchard Wareham
Buried Wareham Cemetery Dorset Section C Row J Grave 42 in War Graves cemetery. Was a Captain in the Royal Electrical Engineers and Royal Army Ordnance Corps Service number 136974. In the 1914-1918 he joined the RASC as a Private and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant Service no. SS 5394.Medals were Victory British and 15 Star.

Apprenticed to William Halfyard and lived in 1881 at 10a Tottenham Court Road London W1 see census 1881 St Pancras. From 1909 to 1914 lived at 30 Cloudesley Street Islington . This being researched from Electoral Rolls Islington South Division 1 Polling District Barnsbury. There were no records for 1915 to 1917 and he was not there in 1918. His son Sidney Joseph Phillips was married from Cloudesley on 26th March 1910, to Louisa Neill and remarried from 30 Cloudesley on 23rd December 1914 to Alice Coe.

Worked for 59 years in Lewisham's Library Service. He worked first as a junior Assisatnt to the Perryhill Library.
Became Chief and later Borough Librarian to the Libraries at Sydenham, Brockley Bellingham, Grove Park Hither Green & Downham.
Awarded MBE in New Years Honour list 0f 1954.. He retired in 1956.
